The 1889 Baltimore City Directory lists Amos E Ripple, Amos J and Sidney as broom makers residing at 1117 Washington Avenue. Ada, Elizabeth and Eva (Sarah Evelyn) Ripple are dress makers. Sidney, Amos J. and Eva are listed in the 1888 directory, the men as broom makers and Eva as a dressmaker; all three live at 321 N Bruce.
The 1890 Baltimore City Directory shows only Amos E and Amos J Ripple as broommakers living at 1236 W Cross. By 1892 the Directory shows Amos E and Amos J, (broom makers) living with Sidney A (broom manufacturer) and Sarah E (or Eva, dressmaker) at 802 W Lombard, but the business is located at 1200 Ridgely. These four family members continue living at the same residence in 1893 and 1894, but the business moves to 1233 Burgundy.
The 1895 Baltimore City Directory indicates that the S A Ripple & Bros has moved next door to 1231 Burgundy Al. Amos E and Sidney A (broom manufacturers) reside at 630 W Lee. Ammon (clerk), Everett (broom maker), and Eveline (Eva, dressmaker) reside at 1014 W Fayette. By 1897 Amos E Ripple resides at 821 S Paca, Sidney resides at 1022 S Paca; Amos J, Eva, and Everett reside at 1522 W Lexington.The 1898, 1899 and 1900 Directories list Amos E at 1027 S Paca and Sidney at 1031 S Paca; Amos J, Everett, and Eva reside at 1522 W Lexington.
In the 1902 Baltimore City Directory Amos E and sons Ammon and Sydney resided at 1029 S Paca, while sons Amos J, Ernest N and daughter Eva S reside at 1738 W Lexington. They are all part of the broom manufacturing business, except Eva continues to be a dressmaker. Everyone continues at the same residences in 1903 except Ammon who has married and moved to 1028 Maldeis. According to the 1905 City Directory Amos E remains at 1029 S Paca, but Sydney moves to 500 S Preemont with his wife Mollie (dressmaker). Daughter Eva and son Amos reside at 1738 W Lexington. In 1906 Sidney moved to 701 Columbia Ave. The 1907 Directory indicates that Sidney has moved to 703 Columbia Avenue and the Ripple Bros. broom manufacturing business moved to 1233 Burgundy Al.
