Sarah Ann Ripple was born 13 September 1838 along with her twin sister Mary in Edinburg, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. In the 1850 Census and the 1860 Census Sarah lives at home on a farm in Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, PA with her parents and siblings.
The 1880 Census shows that Sarah is married to William Walters, a farmer, living in Mahoning Township with her husband and two children, along with one boarder: John Henderson (19) who was a farm laborer.
William died in 1899, but Sarah lived another 15 years. According to her death certificate she died of "Arterioscleriosis, Hypertrophy of liver, Endocarditis". Death Certificate
Sarah and William are buried together in Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence County, PA.
