The 1850 Census shows that Amzi (20) was living at home in Mahoning Township with his parents and siblings, working as a carpenter. There is no mention of a wife. According to other family trees Amzi died in 1855 at the age of 25. Daughter Laura is included in her grandfather's will.
The 1870 Census shows that Amanda married James Burrows, a preacher, in 1857; she has four young children at home, plus a daughter: Laura Ripple (14). This suggests that Amanda may have been pregnant with Laura when Anzi died.
Amanda was born in Lawrence County, PA; died in Nebraska; but is buried in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown, Mercer County, PA as Mary Amanda Borrows. Curiously one of Amanda's daughters married a Ripple: Mary Katherine Burrows married William G Ripple in 1896 and is buried in the Mahoning United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
