Rosa was born 9 December 1873 in Mahoning Township, PA. She was living here with parents and siblings for the 1880 Census.
In 1894 she married John Frederick Stidman. The 1900 Census records that Rosa lived with her husband, their two children, her father and two siblings in a rented home in Baltimore City, MD.
By the 1910 Census Rosa and John own their home in Baltimore City, MD. Living with them are their three children and Rosa's father, Amos Ripple. By the 1920 Census Rosa has been widowed, but owns her Baltimore home free and clear. Living with her are her daughter, son and wife, plus widowed sister Sarah Donn(?).
The 1930 Census indicates widowed Rosa was living with her daughter Elizabeth Bilson, son-in-law and grandson.
On 8 February 1943 Rosa died and was buried in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore City, next to her husband.
