Albert was born in Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania in February 1833. He resided there with his parents and siblings. The 1850 Census and the 1860 Census list him as a farm laborer. In 1863 he registered for the Civil War Draft.
After the Civil War the 1870 Census shows that Albert is a farmer married to Angeline and they live very near brother Theodore. The 1880 Census shows no change, except that brother-in-law Isaac P McWilliams, a teamster, lives with them. Albert's brothers Theodore, Lemuel and James live nearby and all are farmers.
The 1900 Census lists Albert as a widowed farmer on a farm he owns in Mahoning Township. Living with him is Jessie Maddison, a white housekeeper. Angeline died in 1888 and Albert in 1905. They are buried together in the Mahoning United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
